T&P Relief · Commercial FVX-5C / FVMX-5C — Commercial T&P Relief Valves

Cash Acme FVX and FVMX Series are combination temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valves for commercial and domestic water heaters and boilers. The valve opens automatically if water temperature exceeds the rated limit OR pressure exceeds the rated set point — protecting against both over-pressure and scalding. Fully automatic; resets after temperature or pressure relief. Incorporates an inert thermal element coating for isolation from mineral deposits and galvanic corrosion.

FVX = female NPT inlet. FVMX = male NPT inlet. -5C = commercial model for higher BTU equipment. LS = long shank for deep-immersion installations. Common sizes: 3/4" and 1" inlet.

Cash Acme water pressure relief valves for boiler and hydronic system over-pressure protection. These are pressure-only relief valves — they respond to over-pressure only, not temperature. They open when system pressure exceeds the set point and close when pressure drops. BTU ratings on listings indicate the maximum heat removal capacity at the rated set pressure. Available in set pressures from 30 PSI through 150 PSI and pipe sizes from 3/4"×3/4" through 1-1/2"×2".

Pressure Reducing · PRV E41 Series — Pressure Reducing Valves (PRV)

The Cash Acme E41 automatically reduces high inlet pressure to a controlled lower delivery pressure for domestic water supply lines (installed after the meter). Provides high capacity and close regulation for commercial and demanding residential installations. The E41 is similar in internal design to the E3 but without a built-in strainer — for systems that don't require it or where a separate external strainer is preferred.

Specs: Factory set at 45 PSI. Adjustable spring range: 20–70 PSI. Max inlet pressure: 300 PSI. Max system temperature: 180°F (82.2°C). Service: air and water. Body: bronze. Body seat: stainless steel. Seat disc: Buna-N. Diaphragm: EP (reinforced). Certifications: ASSE 1003, IAPMO/UPC listed. Lead free. Every unit tested before shipping. What is the difference between a T&P relief valve and a pressure-only relief valve?

A T&P (temperature and pressure) relief valve opens when either temperature or pressure exceeds the rated limit — required on water heaters and storage tanks where both hazards apply. Cash Acme FVX and FVMX series are T&P valves (CSA ANSI Z21.22/CSA 4.4; ASME NB Section IV). A pressure-only relief valve responds to over-pressure only — used on boilers and hydronic systems where temperature is controlled separately. Cash Acme 23341, 23356, 19497, 19501, and 19503 series are pressure-only water relief valves. Never substitute a pressure-only valve in a T&P application.

What does FVX vs FVMX mean on Cash Acme T&P valves?

FVX = female NPT inlet connection. FVMX = male NPT inlet connection. Both are the same valve internally — the difference is only which thread type matches your tank or boiler connection. The suffix -5C = commercial model for higher BTU equipment. The suffix LS (e.g. FVMX-1LS) = long shank for deeper immersion in larger tanks. How do I select the correct Cash Acme relief valve pressure setting?

The relief valve set pressure must not exceed the maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) stamped on the vessel nameplate.
