Antunes Pressure Switch Guide: JD-2 Color Chart & Gas Switch Codes

The JD-2's spring color tells you its pressure range — get the color wrong and the switch won't trip where you need it to. Here's how to read the JD-2 lineup and decode Antunes' gas pressure switch model codes (LGP, HGP, RLGP, HLGP) so you order the right part the first time.

Quick Answer: What color is my Antunes JD-2 pressure switch?

The JD-2's internal spring color sets its pressure range: Blue = .07"–1.7" W.C., Grey = .1"–4" W.C., Purple = .1"–10" W.C., Red = .1"–24" W.C., Orange = 5"–35" W.C. Check the spring color or part number on your existing switch, then match it to the full color chart below.

What Is an Antunes Pressure Switch?

Antunes Controls makes two distinct families of pressure switches used across HVAC, burner, and boiler systems: the JD-2 series, a compact air differential/vacuum/pressure switch used for air proving and draft sensing, and a broader line of gas pressure switches used as high- and low-gas-pressure safety interlocks on burner and boiler gas trains. Both are adjustable, die-cast aluminum construction, and span settings from as low as .07" W.C. up to 110" W.C. depending on model.

Crossroads Industrial Services acquired the Antunes pressure switch product line in 2017 and continues to manufacture it under the Antunes Controls name — so the part numbers you'll find under "Antunes" and "Crossroads Controls" refer to the same switches.

JD-2 Series: What Does the Spring Color Mean?

The JD-2 is Antunes' most widely used air pressure switch — a compact SPDT auto-reset switch for air proving, fan interlock, and draft sensing in HVAC and burner control circuits. Every JD-2 is the same body; what changes between models is the internal spring, color-coded to a specific pressure range. Match the color (or the range) to your application before you order.

Decoding Antunes Gas Pressure Switch Model Codes

Antunes gas pressure switches use a letter code that tells you the function before you even check the W.C. range. Once you know the code, you know what the switch does.

LGP

Low Gas Pressure Switch

Manual reset. Trips on low gas supply pressure to shut down the burner before it runs gas-starved. Example: 803112502 (2–14" W.C.).

RLGP

Auto-Reset Low Gas Pressure Switch

Same low-gas-pressure function as the LGP, but self-clears once pressure is restored instead of requiring a manual reset. Example: 803112701 (1–6" W.C.).

HGP

High Gas Pressure Switch

Manual reset. Trips on excess gas supply pressure to protect downstream regulators and burner components. Example: 8101121228 (2–20" W.C.).

HLGP

Combined High/Low Gas Pressure Switch

One body, two independent SPDT switches — high and low gas pressure interlocks in a single device. Example: 804111701 (2–16" W.C. high / 1–6" W.C. low).

Letter suffixes (A, G, H, D) after the function code indicate the design generation or switch configuration (SPDT vs. DPDT, connection style) — always confirm against the full model number, not just the function code, since ranges and connections vary between generations.

How to Select the Right Antunes Pressure Switch

1
Identify the function. Air proving/draft sensing (JD-2 series) vs. gas train high/low pressure interlock (LGP/HGP/RLGP/HLGP series) — these are not interchangeable.
2
Confirm the pressure range you need to trip at — for JD-2, that means the spring color; for gas pressure switches, the W.C. or PSI range stamped on the model.
3
Decide manual vs. auto reset. Manual reset requires a person to clear the fault at the switch — common where a nuisance trip shouldn't restart unattended. Auto reset clears itself once pressure is back in range.
4
Check connection size and type — Antunes switches in this line run from 1/8" to 3/8" NPT, and some models use compression fittings instead of threaded NPT.
5
Verify switch configuration (SPDT vs. DPDT) and whether you need single high/low function or the combined HLGP body.

Match Your Application

Combustion Air / Draft Proving

Confirming induced- or forced-draft fan airflow before allowing ignition. → JD-2 series, spring color matched to the required W.C. differential

Gas Train Low-Pressure Interlock

Shutting down the burner if incoming gas supply pressure drops below a safe threshold. → LGP or RLGP series

Gas Train High-Pressure Interlock

Protecting downstream regulators and valve trains from excess supply pressure. → HGP series

Combined High/Low Gas Monitoring in One Device

Space-constrained panels needing both interlocks without two separate switches. → HLGP series

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which JD-2 spring color I need?

Match the W.C. pressure or differential your application needs to trip at against the ranges in the color guide above. If you're replacing an existing switch, the spring color or part number on the old unit is the fastest way to confirm — send it to us and we'll look it up for you.

What's the difference between manual and auto reset gas pressure switches?

Manual reset switches require someone to physically clear the fault at the device before the burner can restart — used where an unattended automatic restart isn't acceptable. Auto reset switches clear themselves once pressure returns to the normal range. Check your equipment manufacturer's specification or local code requirement before substituting one for the other.

Can I use a JD-2 air switch as a gas pressure interlock, or vice versa?

No. The JD-2 is built and rated for air/draft proving, while the LGP/HGP/RLGP/HLGP series are gas pressure switches for burner gas train interlocks. They're not rated or approved for the other's application.

Is "Crossroads Controls" the same as Antunes?

Yes — Crossroads Industrial Services acquired the Antunes pressure switch product line in 2017 and continues to manufacture the same switches and part numbers under the Antunes Controls name.

Does Memphis Control Center stock Antunes pressure switches for same-day shipping?

Yes — we carry the JD-2 series across all spring colors along with the LGP, HGP, RLGP, and HLGP gas pressure switch lines. Orders placed by 2 PM CT on in-stock items ship same day.

Not Sure Which Antunes Switch You Need?

Send us the old part number, spring color, or the pressure range stamped on your equipment — we'll confirm the right switch and ship it same day if it's in stock.
