The BASO H15 Series is the most widely used thermocouple-powered pilot safety valve in the commercial and industrial gas equipment industry. The H15 is powered entirely by millivolt output from the pilot thermocouple — no external electricity required. If the pilot flame is extinguished, thermocouple output drops, the valve closes, and 100% gas shutoff to both the pilot and main burner occurs automatically. Thermocouple-powered, 100% shutoff, standing pilot safety valve. Operation: Press and hold the reset button to allow gas flow to the pilot only (internal flow design). Light the pilot burner. The thermocouple heats up and generates millivoltage that holds the safety valve electromagnet open. Release the reset button — if the pilot is burning correctly, the valve stays open. If the pilot goes out at any time, thermocouple output drops, the electromagnet releases, and the valve closes — shutting off 100% of gas to both pilot and main burner.

BASO K Series thermocouples work with the H15 pilot valve to sense pilot flame. When the pilot is lit, the thermocouple hot junction generates millivoltage that holds the H15 open. Select by thermocouple type (K15, K16, K19) and lead length. Contact us with your equipment make and model for the correct type and length.
K15 Series (K15DA): Standard thermocouple for H15 pilot safety valve applications. Hot junction max 1500°F. Lead lengths: 12", 18", 24", 30", 36", 48". Output: 20–28 mV open circuit, minimum 15 mV at safety turn-down. Connection: 11/32-32 male nut connector. CSA certified. Replaces Johnson Controls K15DS series.
K16 Series: Heavy-duty thermocouple for longer lead requirements. Hot junction max 1500°F. Available in 12"–72" lead lengths (K16: 12–72"). Output: 25–35 mV open circuit, minimum 17 mV at safety turn-down. Same max temperature rating as K15 but higher output range.
K19AT Series: Universal thermocouple for cross-brand replacement — replaces Honeywell Q337, Robertshaw T26, BASO K17, and Johnson Controls K19AA/K19BA/K19CA series. Includes two lead adapters and a spring clip. Hot junction max 1300°F. Lead lengths: 18", 24", 30", 36", 48", 60", 72". Output: 25–35 mV open circuit, minimum 17 mV at safety turn-down. Connection: 11/32-32 male nut connector. Conforms to ANSI Z21.20. Note: K19AT is not CSA certified.

BASO G93 and G96 Series — single solenoid automatic combination gas valves for OEM commercial gas equipment. These combination valves integrate multiple functions (pressure regulation, safety shutoff, manual shutoff) into a single unit. Used on commercial cooking equipment, fryers, and other gas appliances. Common variants: G93ASL, G96HAA, G96AAQ. The REV B suffix indicates a revised version — specify REV B when ordering.

How does the BASO H15 pilot safety valve work?
The H15 is thermocouple-powered and requires no external electricity. To light: press and hold the reset button to allow gas to the pilot only, light the pilot, and hold until the thermocouple generates millivoltage. This energizes an electromagnet inside the H15 that holds the valve open. Release the button — if the pilot is burning, the valve stays open. If the pilot goes out, thermocouple output drops, the electromagnet releases, and the H15 closes — 100% gas shutoff to both pilot and main burner. Field repairs are not permitted. If thermocouple output is correct and the valve does not function, replace the entire valve assembly.
What is the difference between BASO K15, K16, and K19 thermocouples?
All three are for standing pilot applications. K15: hot junction max 1500°F, 20–28 mV open circuit, 15 mV minimum at turn-down, 12"–48" lengths. What does REV B mean on BASO valve part numbers?
REV B designates the current production version of BASO gas valve assemblies. Always specify REV B when ordering H91, G93, G96, or BGA series valves (e.g. H91DA-8D REVB, G93ASL-4C REVB). REV B parts correctly replace earlier versions of the same model.
