ACI Product Lines

ACI manufactures sensors and transmitters across seven product families for HVAC, building automation, energy management, and critical facility applications. Call us with your ACI part number or application requirements — we can source from ACI's complete catalog.

Temperature Sensors & Transmitters

ACI's largest product line — thermistor sensors and transmitters for duct, immersion, outdoor, room, and averaging applications. Thermistor types offered include 10kΩ Type II (A/CP) — for Carrier, Trane, Alerton, Distech, and JCI systems; 10kΩ Type III (A/AN) — for Schneider Electric, Carrier, Delta Controls, KMC Controls, and Reliable Controls; 20kΩ — for some Honeywell and other controllers; 1035Ω — specifically for Johnson Controls System 350 and System 450; plus 1.8kΩ, 3kΩ, 5kΩ, and specialty types. Transmitter versions convert sensor output to 4-20mA, 2-10VDC, or 0-5VDC. Available bare sensor or with enclosure (NEMA 1, NEMA 3R, NEMA 4X). Five-year limited warranty.

Humidity / RH Sensors

Relative humidity sensors with optional integrated temperature sensing. Duct, room/space, and outdoor configurations. Output options include 4-20mA, 0-10VDC, and 0-5VDC. LCD display models available for visual readout. ACI RH sensors are used for building humidity control, IAQ monitoring, and energy management.

Common SKU patterns: A/RH-[config]-[output], numeric SKUs (139377 = LCD RH+Temp, etc.)

Pressure Transmitters

Differential pressure transmitters for duct static pressure, building pressure, filter monitoring, and room pressure applications. Also gauge and absolute pressure transmitters for liquid and gas service. Output: 4-20mA, 0-10VDC, 0-5VDC. Ranges from very low differential (0.25" W.C. and below) to higher process pressures. Panel mount and duct/pipe mount configurations.

Common SKU patterns: A/DP-[range]-[output]-[mount], numeric SKUs (147515 = 0.25" WC diff, 142818 = panel mount diff, etc.)

Current Sensors & Transformers

Split-core current transformers (CTs) for monitoring motor and HVAC equipment operation without interrupting the circuit. Available in solid core and hinged/split core designs. Ranges from 5A to 200A+ full scale. Output: 0-333mV (millivolt), 4-20mA, or switch output (current switch for proof-of-operation). Used for fan/pump proving, motor monitoring, and energy metering in building automation.

Common SKU patterns: A/SCT-[A]-[output]-[core size], numeric SKUs (148160 = 30A hinged split core 0.4" 333mV, etc.)

Gas Sensors

Gas detection sensors for combustible gas (propane, natural gas, methane), toxic gas (CO, CO2), and refrigerant leak detection. Used in parking garages, mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, and laboratory environments. ACI offers BACnet-capable gas controllers for parking garage applications. Sensors include electrochemical and catalytic bead technologies depending on gas type.

Common SKU patterns: A/GS-[gas type]-[range]-[output], numeric SKUs (150044 = Ex-Proof combustion sensor propylene, etc.)

Wireless, BACnet/Modbus & Interface

Wireless: MESHNET 900MHz spread spectrum wireless sensors for temperature, humidity, and pressure — integrates with any BAS. BACnet/Modbus: BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU communicating sensors for direct network integration without analog I/O wiring. Interface devices: Signal converters, isolators, and retransmitters that convert one signal type to another (e.g., 4-20mA to 0-10VDC) — extending the life of existing field devices. Programming cables (126147) for M-Controller and Q4C devices.

ACI Sensors — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ACI building automation sensors. Contact our team or call (901) 458-2000 with your part number or application.

What types of sensors does ACI manufacture?

ACI (now a DwyerOmega brand) manufactures building automation sensors across seven product lines: temperature sensors and transmitters (thermistors, RTDs), relative humidity sensors, differential pressure transmitters, current sensors and split-core CTs, gas sensors (combustion, refrigerant, CO, CO2), wireless sensors (MESHNET 900MHz), and BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU communicating sensors. Interface devices and signal converters are also available. Manufactured in Middleton, Wisconsin since 1991.

What is the difference between ACI 10kΩ, 20kΩ, and 1kΩ thermistors?

The resistance value must match what your BAS controller or thermostat expects. 10kΩ Type II (ACI part A/CP) — commonly used in Carrier, Trane, Alerton, Distech, and Johnson Controls systems. 10kΩ Type III (ACI part A/AN) — commonly used in Schneider Electric, Carrier, Delta Controls, KMC Controls, and Reliable Controls systems. Both types have 10kΩ nominal resistance at 25°C (77°F) but follow different temperature-resistance curves — they are not interchangeable. 20kΩ — used in some Honeywell and other controllers. 1035Ω — specifically for Johnson Controls System 350 and System 450. Always check your controller documentation for the required thermistor type and resistance curve before ordering — using the wrong type will cause temperature reading errors.

When do I use a 4-20mA temperature transmitter instead of a bare thermistor?

Use a transmitter (4-20mA, 2-10VDC, 0-5VDC output) when your controller has analog input cards rather than direct thermistor inputs, or when wire runs are long — 4-20mA signals resist electrical noise better over long distances than resistance signals. Use a bare thermistor sensor when your controller has direct thermistor inputs configured for the correct curve (Type II or Type III). ACI transmitters include an integral sensor or connect to a remote probe and are available in duct, immersion, room, and outdoor mount configurations with multiple output options.

What are ACI split-core current transformers used for in HVAC?

ACI split-core CTs clamp around an existing conductor without interrupting the circuit. In HVAC and BAS applications they are used for proof-of-operation (confirming a fan or pump motor is actually running), motor current monitoring, and energy metering. Current switch versions provide a dry contact that closes when current exceeds a setpoint — used for fan and pump proving in AHU controls. Split-core designs allow installation on existing wiring without disconnecting conductors.

Are ACI products in stock or special order?

ACI products at Memphis Control Center are primarily special order — not shelf stock. We maintain access to ACI's full catalog through our distribution relationship. Lead times vary by product. Call us at (901) 458-2000 or contact us with your ACI part number for current availability, lead time, and pricing.
